from humble beginnings

Many years ago, when wedding cakes were rich fruit cakes dressed in marzipan, fondant, and delicate lacework, I ran a business designing wedding cakes and bridal jewellery. It was a true passion, and I loved every moment. But raising children became my greatest joy, so I set my tools aside to be a full-time mum to two beautiful boys.

Now that my children are grown, life has brought me full circle — back to where it all began. With my partner, I am once again doing what I love most: designing and creating in my happy place, Aleandra’s Kitchen in Ocean Grove.

Wedding cakes today have evolved into a world of decadent flavours — perfect for those who never really liked fruit cake — and I adore bringing each one to life. Whether it’s a wedding cake, birthday cake, cupcakes or biscuits or a mix of them all, I pour my heart into every creation, paying attention to every detail.

For me, as a cake artist, the joy is in the process, and it’s both a pleasure and a privilege to craft something special for each of my customers.
